Main contractor Torsion Construction appointed WysePower to provide a suite of temporary services to support the construction of a new student residential development in Sheffield.

WysePower will be providing a host of services and equipment onsite including lighting, water, generators, Portaloo’s, emergency voice alarm communications (EVAC) and fire extinguishers. WysePower is also installing power to site for two cranes, two hoists, two lifts and six mast climbers.

Located close to the city centre and the university campuses, Hollis Croft A will be a mixed-use building with a stepped form rising from seven to 17 storeys high. It will accommodate 234 residential units together with ground floor amenity and associated works.

“We have a great understanding of their requirements, and we were able to follow through with our promises,” says Gyles Wallbank, Business Development Manager. “We have now completed a number of projects with Torsion Construction and have built a great working relationship with the company.”

The site is located between Whitecroft, Hollis Croft and Tender Street – just a ten-minute walk away from the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.

The project started 1st June 2024, and work is expected to last for two years.
