What does WysePower do?
For over 60 years WysePower has been working on the UK’s largest construction projects, providing temporary power and facilities, helping get projects over the line on time. From skyscrapers to Olympic swimming pools, no project or day is the same. We pride ourselves on our three pillars of service: Responsiveness, Sustainability and Quality.
At present, WysePower is experiencing a period of rapid growth and is in need of WysePeople to join the ranks. Whether you’re already skilled within the construction industry, or if you’re just starting out, we have a range of positions on offer here in the UK, and in Europe.

Do we offer apprenticeships?
We are constantly recruiting new apprentices into WysePower, we’re passionate about giving you the start that you need and supporting you through your apprenticeships until full qualification and beyond. Modern apprenticeships last between three to four years and we offer on the job learning while supporting you with your college and theory work. To date, we’ve employed hundreds of apprentices that have completed their qualifications, with some going on to the highest positions in the company.

Is it just electrical apprentices that we employ?
There are numerous career paths you can take with WysePower. As well as electrical apprenticeships, we offer career paths in everything from quantity surveying, procurement, project management, administration, estimating, and business development. Although they might not all attract formal qualifications, they will most likely entail on-the-job training.
What could progression look like?
STAGE
01
Upon completion of your qualification, you will transition into a full time position within WysePower. At this point we’d class you a WysePerson, or as you may see mentioned ‘ one of the WysePeople’.
STAGE
02
No one knows our business better than our team and after 3-5 years of training you can count yourself into this exclusive group. Once instilled into the business full time, the possibilities are endless. From a life on the tools, through to a commercial position, to the top ranks of the business – the plot of your career is in your hands.
STAGE
03
We expect tradespeople to move through to supervisor positions quickly, and then into project management, contractual management or into commercial positions. We will develop a progression plan to match your ambitions.
What advice would we give to a young person thinking of joining WysePower?
WysePower gives young, old, inexperienced and experienced hard working people the opportunity and leg up that they need to work in the world’s greatest industry. Construction is challenging, there’s no hiding from that, but hard work, determination and attitude are rewarded and sought after. If you commit to your work and turn up with a positive attitude it’ll be seen, rewarded and your investment in WysePower will be returned in the form of a long and prosperous career.
What do our apprentices think?

“I secured my electrical apprenticeship with WysePower through Barking & Dagenham College. I started working on the Google project and have been there ever since. I have also had the opportunity to work with the permanent electrical contractor on site to gain experience in all aspects of installation work.”
Ethan Briant – Stage 3 Electrical Apprentice
Employed via Barking & Dagenham college as part of our social commitment to the Kings Cross Google HQ project.

“Working with WysePower on ESJ has been amazing. Starting with no experience, I am now in stage three and have learned so much about the electrical trade and how to work safely on a major project”.
Greg Droudge – Stage 3 Electrical Apprentice
Employed to support the local community on the £800m Edinburgh St James Project.

Can we help mature learners to get qualified?
We also recognise those more experienced learners with a hunger to improve their careers. These individuals may have joined the trade as labourers or electricians’ mates. At WysePower, we will give these people external training, time and a commitment to reach their full potential as a qualified tradesperson.
